Trash Bash and Spring Planting

An Earth Day riverfront clean up: Edith Barill Riverfront Park, April 26th 10am-1pm. AND Hazel Ruby McGuain Park, April 27th 1pm.-4pm.

Walk in, bike in, kayak and join others for food, drink, a bit of exercise, fresh air and a good deed!

Hosted by Star City and Morgantown municipal leadership, the River Town Program, Adventure WV, BOPARC and Mon River Trails Conservancy.

Tools, gloves and trash bags will be provided.

Kayak demonstrations and lessons will be offered.


CASA Superhero 5K & 1K Kids' Fun Run

Be a Superhero! Run or walk the CASA Superhero 5K to support abused and neglected children. Show your superhero spirit by dressing for the occasion and letting your cape fly as you traverse the hills and flat areas of the course.

Schedule

Kids Carnival: 9:00 a.m.

Timed 5K: 10:00 a.m.

Awards and After-Party immediately following 5K.

Presented by and benefiting CASA programs of Harrison, Marion, Monongalia, and Preston Counties. CASA programs were established so that every abused and neglected child has a voice in court and are ensured the chance for a permanent home. On April 26, 2014, a league of Superheroes will come together to help make a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children and to increase awareness of the challenges they face on a daily basis.

For the next five weekends the Evansdale Greenhouse will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the following days for the spring plant sale:

• April 11-13
• April 18-20
• April 25-27
• May 2-4
• May 9-11

Plants ranging from perennials to annuals, as well as hanging baskets, will be available for purchase. Four-inch pots of annuals will be $2, while four-inch pots of perennials and six packs of annuals will be $3. Quart pots of perennials will be $4 and hanging baskets will be $20.
